The wait may finally be over for Florida and Clemson fans pertaining to 4-star wide receiver Demarcus Robinson’s decision on what school he plans on playing football for.
His Twitter suggests his enrollment at Florida and he’s officially listed as committed according to Rivals.com. The reason this decision does not feel certain is because Robinson has made Clemson and Florida fans weary from his indecision in the past. He committed to Clemson in July. Robinson then decommitted on Dec. 12 and immediately committed to Florida the same day. He decommitted from Florida five days later and recommitted to Clemson without delay. Today is the latest recruitment update.
Robinson was recruited by Joker Phillips and Brian White. This is outstanding news for Gator fans as he is ranked as the 12th best wide receiver in the 2013 class according to 247 Sports. Just three spots ahead of him in the same rankings at ninth best is Ahmad Fulwood, who committed to Florida in April. The news is especially hopeful for Gator fans since the team recently lost a handful of juniors to the NFL including: safety Matt Elam, tight end Jordan Reed, defensive tackle Sharrif Floyd and Jelani Jenkins, who declared today.
His attributes speak for themselves. At 6’1”, 195 pounds, a 4.6 in the 40, Demarcus Robinson is thought to be one of the most complete wide receivers in the south. His strengths include his sure hands, superior blocking and route-running skills. In 2011 he averaged 19.3 yards per catch and hauled in 10 touchdowns while rushing for five. Alongside Ahmad Fulwood, the Florida Gators now have two high-potential wide receivers for Jeff Driskel to pass to which is definitely filling one of their needs.
Robinson tweeted earlier today, “I love my gators and can’t wait to arrive on campus!” That should be enough assurance for Gator fans to relax upon. I am confident Gainesville cannot wait for his arrival either.
