LAMM AT LARGE: The Jaguars Are Trending Up

todayNovember 16, 2022

Background
Am I looking through rose-colored glasses or do the Jaguars now look like a competitive franchise with a bright future?
Even in a 27-17 loss at Kansas City last Sunday, the Jaguars were a far cry from the franchise their fans watched in recent seasons.
The defense had produced a good pass rush and competent pass coverage on the back end. The offense has been improving. Better play up front has allowed QB Trevor Lawrence and running back Travis Etienne to play well.
Is there anyone on the remaining schedule they can’t beat? It isn’t an easy schedule with the Ravens, Cowboys, Jets and Titans twice remaining. But based on what we’ve seen recently, it’s not outrageous to think the Jaguars could win four or five more games after this week’s bye.
The the arrow is pointing up thanks to first-year Jacksonville Coach Doug Pederson. I’m aware the Jaguars have a 3-7 record, but it isn’t wishful thinking to see a better team and a brighter future.
