It was a wild Week 3 of the high school football season, with third-ranked St. Augustine edging top-ranked Bolles 40-35 in an instant classic between the teams.

No. 4 Oakleaf also notched a Super 10 win over 10th-ranked Fleming Island with a 31-0 romp. The Knights barrel into next week’s clash against unbeaten Hawthorne on a tear.

No. 2 Raines had no trouble with host Trinity Christian in a 48-14 rout. The Vikings (2-0) will visit Lake Mary in a big time showdown in Week 4.

Mandarin and Bradford set up their Week 4 showdown with victories. The Mustangs sent Sandalwood to its 23rd consecutive loss with a 42-0 win. Mandarin will host Bradford (3-0) next week. The Tornadoes overcame an early deficit to beat host South Sumter 14-12.

No. 6 Nease walloped visiting Tallahassee Lincoln 47-10 to roll into a Week 4 showdown at unbeaten Fletcher (3-0).

It was a great night in Nassau County as Fernandina Beach, West Nassau and Yulee all stayed unbeaten.

The Warriors, debuting their new turf field, walloped previously unbeaten Lake Weir 48-12. West Nassau (4-0) could very well be unbeaten when it meets Yulee (3-0) in Week 6. The Hornets edged Charlton County 19-12 on Friday night to move to 3-0. And Fernandina Beach hammered Duval Charter 56-6 to move to 4-0. The Pirates host a solid Fort White team next week.
