First quarter

The 49ers won the coin toss and elected to defer. The Jaguars went three-and-out on their first possession, then the Niners went 57 yards downfield on four plays for a touchdown in their own opening drive. Brock Purdy threw a 13-yard score to Brandon Aiyuk to give the bad guys an early lead.

Jaguars 0, 49ers 7

Jacksonville went three-and-out again. Lawrence has two completions (for 10 yards) and two sacks (for -11 yards) through two offensive drives. The 49ers drove into Jaguars territory again, though a Foye Oluokun third-down sack forced a field goal.

Jaguars 0, 49ers 10

Jacksonville picked up its first first down of the afternoon with under 3 minutes to go in the first quarter. Tim Jones’ 12-yard gain was the only notable play of the possession, though, as the Jaguars punted three plays later. Luckily the 49ers committed a penalty to start its next drive and punted for the first time today to end the first quarter.

Second quarter

The Jaguars picked up its second first down of the day with a 16-yard scamper by Travis Etienne, but after a botched trick play and delay of game penalty, Nick Bosa forced and recovered a fumble. An offensive holding call helped the Jags defense force a three-and-out to get the ball back.

Jacksonville finally got things going on offense with a 14-play, 85-yard drive to get on the board.

Jaguars 3, 49ers 10

San Francisco responded with an 11-play, 59-yard possession to re-extend the lead at the end of the half.

HALFTIME: Jaguars 3, 49ers 13

The second half began with a touchback by Brandon McManus, a 9-yard completion to Deebo Samuel, and a 66-yard touchdown via George Kittle.

Jaguars 3, 49ers 20

Jacksonville put together a nice response on its first drive of the second half, highlighted by a 26-yard rainbow to Christian Kirk, but disaster struck soon after in the form of another interception off Tank Bigsby’s hands.

The Jaguars were able to force a three-and-out on the Niners’ next possession, though, and the offense drove right back down the field… before disaster struck once more. Kirk fumbled the ball just six yards away from the endzone, and the 49ers jumped on it. Deebo Samuel scored a 23-yard rushing touchdown seven plays later.

Fourth quarter

Trevor Lawrence threw an interception. Prock Burdy threw a touchdown. 12 minutes to go.

FINAL SCORE: Jaguars 3, 49ers 34
