Background

The Jacksonville Jaguars take on the Kansas City Chiefs at 7:00 p.m. ET on Saturday at EverBank Stadium.

First quarter

Kansas City marched down the field on its opening drive with gains of 11 by Marquise Brown, 9 by Isiah Pacheco, and 16 by Pacheco. Trevis Gipson single-handily stopped the drive with back-to-back tackles then a quarterback pressure to force the Chiefs to kick a field goal.

Parker Washington returned the kickoff 73 yards to Kansas City’s 20-yard line, and four plays later, Trevor Lawrence found Travis Etienne for a touchdown!

Second quarter

After a few scoreless possessions, the Jaguars got across midfield via a 41-yard pass from C.J. Beathard to Brian Thomas Jr. — then Cam Little booted a 40-yard field goal through the uprights.

After both teams traded punts, the Chiefs went 82 yards in 16 plays and scored on a 1-yard carry by Carson Steele.

Jacksonville responded with a five-play, 80-yard drive during the two-minute drill that was capped by a 35-yard touchdown from Beathard to Devin Duvernay! D’Ernest Johnson secured the two-point conversion after Kansas City committed a penalty to move the attempt to the 1-yard line.

The Chiefs made a mistake on the ensuing kickoff and gave up a safety. Little had another field goal attempt as the first half clock expired, a 62-yarder, but it sailed just left.

Third quarter

Both teams traded punts before Mac Jones found Austin Trammell for a pair of first downs. Little nailed his second field goal of the night, a 47-yarder, to extend Jacksonville’s lead.

Fourth quarter

Harrison Butker made a 33-yard field goal at the beginning of the quarter…

Jaguars 23, Chiefs 13

…and Little made a 31-yarder at the end of the quarter.
