Pittsburgh received the first-half kickoff and went three-and-out thanks to a Diontae Johnson drop on first down and a Travon Walker sack on second down. Jacksonville was able to get downfield due to a pass interference call on a third-down pass to Calvin Ridley. Brandon McManus got the first points of the day on the board with a 50-yard field goal.

Jacksonville put together a nice drive to start the second half, but it was thwarted by a Tank Bigsby fumble. Then a few punts were exchanged before Lawrence found Etienne deep down the sideline for a 56-yard touchdown! Etienne ran in the two-point conversion to make it a 14-point ballgame.
