Background

The Jacksonville Jaguars (1-1) take on the Houston Texans (0-2) at 1 p.m. EST on Sunday.

Follow along here for live updates and key highlights from the game!

First quarter

Houston received the first-half kickoff and went three-and-out. On Jacksonville’s first drive, Calvin Ridley dropped a sure touchdown and Brandon McManus missed a 48-yard field goal to give the Texans the ball back.

C.J. Stroud connected with Tank Dell for 46 yards against an inverted coverage look from the Jags to set up a 1-yard goal-line plunge by Dameon Pierce. Jaguars 0, Texans 7.

Second quarter

Both teams traded punts before Jacksonville finally looked like it was about to get on the scoreboard. But Ridley dropped another pass and McManus missed another kick (blocked by Will Anderson). The Texans drove 46 yards downfield before Stroud tossed a touchdown to Brevin Jordan.

Jaguars 0, Texans 14.

The Texans notched three more points as the first-half clock expired. The Jaguars were held scoreless in the first half for a myriad of excuses, but they will receive the second-half kickoff.

Jaguars 0, Texans 17.

Third quarter

Jacksonville finally hits pay dirt with a 1-yard Tank Bigsby touchdown on the first drive of the second half.

Jaguars 7, Texans 17.

McManus makes it a one-score game with a 33-yard field goal. On the following kickoff, Texans fullback Andrew Beck went 85 yards for a touchdown.

Jaguars 10, Texans 24.

Fourth quarter

Trevor Lawrence throws an interception near the 50-yard line and the Texans promptly drive down the field to kick a field goal.

Jaguars 10, Texans 27

Jacksonville responds with a 6-play, 75-yard drive capped off by a Christian Kirk 26-yard touchdown. But a 68-yard bomb from Stroud to Dell widens the gap again, and a 33-yard field goal secures the victory for Houston.

FINAL SCORE: Jaguars 17, Texans 37
