Mike DiRocco

Background

Mike DiRocco graduated from Jacksonville University in 1992 with a bachelor’s degree in communications. He spent 16 months serving as sports editor for the five-day-a week Clay Today newspaper in Orange Park, before joining the Florida Times-Union where he became a high-profile sports beat writer covering the University of Florida Gators. During his time at the Times-Union, DiRocco documented a pair of UF NCAA college football titles, as well as two basketball championships, in addition to covering stories for some of the biggest names in professional sports. In 2011, Dirocco moved on to ESPN, covering the University of Florida. Two years later, he transitioned to the NFL side of things to cover the Jacksonville Jaguars for NFL Nation on ESPN. Today, he writes for espn.com, as well as making regular appearances on local and national television and radio broadcasts. He is widely regarded as one of the most experienced experts and analysts on all issues related to the NFL. You can hear Mike often on various 1010 XL/92.5 FM shows providing his often contrarian, but always insightful, informed and entertaining takes.
