Feel good.
Just enjoy it.
Soak it up.
The Jaguars won a game. Finally.
Thanks to a revived Trevor Lawrence and several explosive plays the Jaguars maintained their Jacksonville dominance over AFC South rival Indianapolis winning 37-34 on Sunday at EverBank Stadium. Jaguars rookie kicker Cam Little hit a 49-yard field goal with 17 seconds left in the game.
The Jaguars have now won 10 straight games over the Colts at home.
More importantly, the Jaguars got their first win of the season, snapping a four-game skid to begin the season.
There were so many big plays. Just focus on those and let the smiles come.
*Lawrence connected with rookie phenom receiver Brian Thomas for an 85-yard touchdown. Thomas was clocked at running 22.15 miles per hour, the fastest by a ball carrier in the NFL this season according to Next Gen Stats.
*Second-year running back Tank Bigsby broke a 65-yard touchdown run. Bigsby finished the game with 101 rushing yards with two touchdowns, while also adding a 28-yard reception.
*Receiver Christian Kirk beat the Colts deep for a 61-yard gain.
That’s 211 yards on three plays. That’s the Jaguars football we were expecting.
The special teams got involved too. Punt returner Devin Duvernay got loose for a 54-yard return to the Colts 19-yard line. Bigsby cashed that in with a 19-yard touchdown run.
There were certainly defensive lapses, but you have to love defensive end Travon Walker recording three sacks. The third-year veteran ended the game with his sack of Indianapolis quarterback Joe Flacco.
You have a lot to smile about today. You’ve waited a month for your team to get a victory.
We can talk about the path back into contention another time.
We could talk about whether Lawrence’s slump ended on Sunday. He was brilliant, completing 28 of 34 passes for 371 yards with two touchdowns and one interception for a 119.5 passer rating.
We could talk about the glaring defensive breakdowns.
Instead, just enjoy this. Your Jaguars won a game in spectacular fashion on a day that saw former coach Tom Coughlin get inducted into The Pride of the Jaguars at halftime.
Watch the highlights dozens of times.
Soak up the good feelings.
Enjoy being a fan.
