Prospect bio: Ward was an unranked recruit out of Columbia High School due to their run-heavy offense. He accepted his only scholarship offer at University of the Incarnate Word, where he threw for an FCS-leading 24 touchdown (in six games during the pandemic season) as a freshman. After being named the Southland Conference Offensive Player of the Year as a sophomore, Ward transferred to Washington State and started for two seasons, then used his remaining eligibility to take his talents to South Beach. Ward led Miami to a 10-2 regular season record in 2024 and won ACC Player of the Year, was named a consensus All-American, and finished fourth in Heisman Trophy voting. He threw three first-half touchdowns in the Pop-Tarts Bowl to set college football’s all-time record with 158 total touchdown passes (71 in the FCS, 87 in the FBS).
2024 stats: 67.2% completion percentage, 331.8 passing yards per game, 44 total touchdowns
Player comp: Jordan Love
Shedeur Sanders, Colorado
Consensus positional ranking: 2
Prospect bio: Sanders was a four-star recruit out of Trinity Christian School, where his father and football Hall of Famer Deion was offensive coordinator. Shedeur originally committed to Florida Atlantic, but when Deion was named head coach at Jackson State, the former followed. Sanders was named Southwestern Athletic Conference Freshman of the Year in 2021, then the conference’s Offensive Player of the Year in 2022. He was also awarded the Deacon Jones Trophy as the country’s best HBCU player. The younger Sanders then followed his father to Colorado and promptly threw for a school-record 510 yards in his first FBS game before breaking the program’s single-season passing record the ensuing season. Sanders led the Buffaloes to a 9-4 record in 2024 and earned Big 12 Offensive Player of the Year honors in the process.
2024 stats: 74% completion percentage, 318.0 passing yards per game, 41 total touchdowns
Player comp: Teddy Bridgewater
Jaxson Dart, Ole Miss
Consensus positional ranking: 3
Prospect bio: Dart was a four-star recruit out of Corner Canyon High School, where he set a Utah state record with 67 touchdowns to win Gatorade Football Player of the Year and MaxPreps National Player of the Year as a senior. Dart, who was also a two-time all-state third baseman, committed to the University of Southern California and broke the school’s record for most passing yards in a debut with 391. Following the 2021 season, former Oklahoma quarterback Caleb Williams followed head coach Lincoln Riley to USC, so Dart transferred to Ole Miss to play under Lane Kiffin. Dart led the Rebels to a 28-10 record in three seasons and threw for over 10,000 career yards in Kiffin’s up-tempo offense, and he threw for 404 yards and 4 scores to win MVP of the 2025 TaxSlayer Gator Bowl.
2024 stats: 69.3% completion percentage, 329.2 passing yards per game, 32 total touchdowns
Player comp: Mitchell Trubisky
Jalen Milroe, Alabama
Consensus positional ranking: 4
Prospect bio: Milroe was a four-star recruit out of Tomkins High School. He originally committed to Texas before switching to Alabama. After beginning his career as Bryce Young’s backup, Milroe won the starting job in 2023 over Ty Simpson and Tyler Buchner. Milroe led the Crimson Tide to a 11-1 regular season record and was named MVP of the SEC Championship Game. The following season, Bama won 9 games to reach the ReliaQuest Bowl and Milroe received the William V Campbell Trophy (a.k.a the “Academic Heisman”). His 20 rushing touchdowns in 2024 was a single-season school record, and he joined Tim Tebow, Cam Newton, Johnny Manziel and Nick Fitzgerald as the only players in SEC history to record at least 15 passing touchdowns and 15 rushing touchdowns in the same season.
2024 stats: 64.3% completion percentage, 218.8 passing yards per game, 36 total touchdowns
Player comp: Malik Willis
Quinn Ewers, Texas
Consensus positional ranking: 5
Prospect bio: Ewers was a five-star recruit and arguably the top quarterback prospect in his class out of Carroll Senior High School. He originally committed to Texas before switching to Ohio State, but after taking two snaps as a freshman, he opted to transfer to Texas in 2022. Though the Longhorns went 6-4 in his first season as the starter, Ewers led them to 21 total wins and earned consecutive second-team all-conference honors over the next two years. During the 2023 Big 12 Championship Game, he threw for a game-record 452 yards and 4 scores to win MVP.
2024 stats: 65.8% completion percentage, 248.0 passing yards per game, 33 total touchdowns
