Today, we’ll be focusing on running backs in our “get to know the prospects” series.

Prospect bio: Jeanty was a four-star recruit out of Lone Star High School and committed to Boise State. He split playing time as a freshman before breaking out as a sophomore with 1,916 yards from scrimmage (second-most in the country) to earn first-team All-American honors. As a junior, Jeanty led the country in yards from scrimmage (2,739) and rushing yards (2,601) to earn unanimous All-American honors and finish as the runner-up for the Heisman Trophy. He also won a second-straight Mountain West Offensive Player of the Year award. Jeanty holds school records for single-game rushing yards and touchdowns, single-season rushing yards and touchdowns, and all-time rushing yards. Jeanty is the only player in FBS history to record 14 games of 100-plus rushing yards in a season.
2024 stats: 7.0 yards per carry, 2,601 rushing yards, 138 receiving yards, 30 total touchdowns

Omarion Hampton, North Carolina
Consensus positional ranking: 2
Prospect bio: Hampton was a four-star recruit out of Cleveland High School, where he was named North Carolina’s Mr. Football and Gatorade Player of the Year as a senior. He committed to North Carolina and saw immediate playing time; Hampton became the school’s first true freshman to rush for 100 yards in a game since 1946. He took over as the starter as a sophomore and ended up earning consecutive first-team All-ACC and first-team All-American honors in 2023 and 2024. In the latter season, Hampton tallied 1,660 yards on the ground, good for the second-most in a single season in school history.
2024 stats: 5.9 yards per carry, 1,660 rushing yards, 373 receiving yards, 17 total touchdowns

Quinshon Judkins, Ohio State
Consensus positional ranking: 3
Prospect bio: Judkins was a three-star recruit out of Pike Road High School and committed to Ole Miss, where he won SEC Freshman of the Year after setting school records with 1,567 rushing yards and 16 touchdowns. Judkins earned first-team All-SEC honors for a second straight season as a sophomore, but he transferred to Ohio State for his third and final year. He rushed for over 1,000 yards and scored 16 total touchdowns to help lead the Buckeyes to a national championship and earn third-team All-Big Ten honors.
2024 stats: 5.5 yards per carry, 1,060 rushing yards, 161 receiving yards, 16 total touchdowns

TreVeyon Henderson, Ohio State
Consensus positional ranking: 4
Prospect bio: Henderson was a five-star recruit out of Hopewell High School, where he was named Virginia’s Gatorade Player of the Year. He committed to Ohio State and promptly broke a 49-year school record for single-game rushing yards by a freshman. He also broke the school’s freshman record for total touchdowns. Henderson earned second-team All-Big Ten honors in 2021, first-team honors in 2023, and third-team honors in 2024, and he was a vital piece of the Buckeyes’ national championship team.
2024 stats: 7.1 yards per carry, 1,016 rushing yards, 284 receiving yards, 11 total touchdowns

Kaleb Johnson, Iowa
Consensus positional ranking: 5
Prospect bio: Johnson was a three-star recruit out of Hamilton High School and committed to Cal before switching to Iowa. He played in a part-time role as a freshman and sophomore before breaking out as the Big Ten Running Back of the Year as a junior in 2024. Johnson rushed for 1,537 yards and 21 touchdowns, both single-season school records, and also earned first-team All-Big Ten and consensus All-American honors.
2024 stats: 6.4 yards per carry, 1,537 rushing yards, 188 receiving yards, 23 total touchdowns
