Today, we’ll be focusing on wide receivers in our “get to know the prospects” series.

Tetairoa McMillan, Arizona

Consensus positional ranking: 1

Prospect bio: McMillan was a four-star recruit out of Servite High School, where he won Polynesian High School Football Player of the Year and was a finalist for California’s Gatorade Player of the Year as a senior. He committed to Oregon before switching to Arizona to reunite with several high school teammates. McMillan began his college career with 3 catches for 53 yards and a spike, and he finished his first year with more receiving yards than any other true freshman in the country. McMillan ranked fifth among all college players in the category as a sophomore to earn second-team All-Pac-12 honors, and he ranked third in the category as a senior to earn first-team All-Big 12 honors. He also earned consensus All-American recognition and the Polynesian College Football Player of the Year in 2024. McMillan holds the school’s all-time record with 3,423 career receiving yards.

2024 stats: 84 receptions, 1,319 yards, 8 touchdowns

Luther Burden, Missouri

Consensus positional ranking: 2

Prospect bio: Burden was a five-star recruit and the top-ranked offensive player in his class (2022) out of East St. Louis Senior High School. He committed to Missouri and promptly scored two touchdowns (one rushing and one receiving) in his college debut. As a sophomore, Burden had five consecutive games of 100-plus receiving yards to finish with 1,212 yards on the season. He earned first-team All-SEC honors in 2023 and 2024, and he finished his career with the sixth-most career receiving yards in school history (2,263).

2024 stats: 61 receptions, 676 yards, 6 touchdowns

Emeka Egbuka, Ohio State

Consensus positional ranking: 3

Prospect bio: Egbuka was a five-star recruit and the top-ranked receiver in his class (2021) out of Steilacoom High School, where he earned Washington’s Gatorade Player of the Year as a junior. He decided to forgo his high school senior season (which was postponed due to the pandemic) to enroll early at Ohio State. Egbuka caught just 9 passes as a freshman playing behind future NFL first-rounders Garrett Wilson, Chris Olave, Jaxon Smith-Njigba and Mavin Harrison Jr. — but he set a career-high with 1,151 receiving yards as a sophomore to earn second-team All-Big Ten honors, and he earned third-team recognition as a junior and senior. Egbuka finished his college career with 205 receptions (most in school history) and 2,868 receiving yards (second-most in school history) and he helped the Buckeyes win the 2024 national title. 

2024 stats: 81 receptions, 1,011 yards, 10 touchdowns

Matthew Golden, Texas

Consensus positional ranking: 4

Prospect bio: Golden was a four-star recruit out of Klein Cain High School and originally committed to TCU before switching to Houston. He caught 38 passes as a freshman and a sophomore, with 988 total receiving yards and 2 kick return touchdowns in that span, before deciding to transfer to Texas. He led the Longhorns with 987 receiving yards and 9 touchdowns to earn second-team All-Big 12 honors honors as a junior. Golden averaged 103 receiving yards per game in the SEC title game plus three playoff games in 2024.

2024 stats: 58 receptions, 987 yards, 9 touchdowns

Tre Harris, Ole Miss

Consensus positional ranking: 5

Prospect bio: Harris was a two-star recruit out of Ovey Comeaux High School, where he played quarterback and threw to current New York Giant Malik Nabers. Harris committed to Louisiana Tech and had 1 catch as a freshman before catching 40 balls for 562 yards and 4 scores as a sophomore. As a junior, he led the team with 65 catches for 935 yards and 10 touchdowns to earn first-team All-C-USA honors. Harris then transferred to Ole Miss, where he set the school’s single game receiving touchdowns record (4) in his SEC debut. He led the team with 60 catches for 1,030 yards and 7 touchdowns to earn first-team All-SEC honors as a fifth-year senior in 2024. 

2024 stats: 60 receptions, 1,030 yards, 7 touchdowns
