Bill Corskey-Merritt will have more than 41.5 rushing yards

If he wants to go by Bill, then we shall call him Bill. Corskey-Merritt won’t have projections this low for long, so let’s enjoy them while they last. The Commanders’ rookie running back had a great first outing in the burgundy and gold, totaling 10 carries for 82 yards with a long of 41 yards and a score. He is someone who has vaulted into the forefront of the Commanders’ rushing attack, as the other backs surrounding him are Jeremy McNichols, who had four carries for 25 yards, and Austin Ekeler, who had six carries for 26 yards. There is a new Bill in Capitol Hill, and he is primed to have a repeat performance regardless of whether the questionable Ekeler does suit up and play again.
Romeo Doubs will have fewer than 5.5 receiving targets

Doubs has been a quality member of the Green Bay offense for a couple of years now, but has never been the main attraction. If you imagine the Packers’ offense as a salad, Doubs is the cheese on that salad. You may notice if he isn’t there, but you can still have the salad taste good if he isn’t. Salad analogies aside, Doubs had his best year back in 2023 and only passed this projection five times. When things looked to be pointing up for Doubs following the 2024 season, where he passed this projection six times in 13 games, the Packers drafted WR Matthew Golden in the first round of the 2025 NFL Draft. Doubs is a quality pass catcher, but with the litany of choices that Packers QB Jordan Love has to give the ball to, this projection seems too high.
Zach Ertz will have more than 32.5 receiving yards

While this projection is one that Ertz would have missed in last week’s game against the Giants, Ertz and the Commanders’ offense now get to face a Packers’ defense that gave up 79 yards on nine targets with six receptions to Lions TE Sam LaPorta. LaPorta was the leading receiver for the Lions a week ago, partially due to the Packers’ stingy rush defense, but that has the needle pointing upwards for future tight end production. Ertz saw five targets come his way in Week 1 against the Giants, and if the Packers continue to be a difficult team to run on, Ertz will be a reliable target for the Commanders’ QB Jayden Daniels.
