Jaguars season stinks, but let’s appreciate James Robinson

The Jaguars stink.
They’ve lost 10 consecutive games, setting the franchise record.
The losses continued Sunday as Cleveland defeated the Jaguars 27-25 at TIAA Bank Field.
The season will be remembered for losing.
Fans are cheering for losses to protect the pick. The Jaguars (1-10) currently hold the second-overall pick, which would likely mean the arrival of Ohio State quarterback Justin Fields.
Home games are road games. Jaguars fans are wisely trying to recoup some of the money they spent on season tickets. It’s one thing when the Steelers take over your stadium, like last week. The Browns had the majority of fans on Sunday.
No one wants this season to linger.
However, I will miss James Robinson.
Once this miserable five-game stretch to close the season is over, I’ll be thrilled.
But I will look forward to watching Robinson run the ball again.
The undrafted rookie running back was sensational again against the Browns. He carried 22 times for 128 yards and a touchdown, as the Jaguars started their third quarterback (Mike Glennon) of the season.
Opponents all know the Jaguars are going to run Robinson. That hasn’t stopped him.
The 22-year-old Robinson is third in the NFL in rushing yards with 890 this season.
He’s on pace for a 1,294-yard campaign.
That is simply incredible.
Robinson would rank seventh in franchise history for rushing yards in a single season if he hits that mark. The only two players ahead of him would be franchise legends Fred Taylor and Maurice Jones-Drew.
Robinson’s pace would also be the most rushing yards a Jaguar has posted since 2011, when Jones-Drew led the NFL with 1,606 yards.
Jaguars coach Doug Marrone described Robinson as steady, consistent and giving unbelievable effort after the game.
He’s spot on.
Robinson’s vision and will to run hard is so much fun to watch. He dragged multiple Browns defenders into the end zone, pushing the pile on a 4-yard touchdown run that cut the lead to 27-25 with 2:14 remaining in the game.
This season has been atrocious.
Let’s get these five games over and move on with our lives.
But let’s appreciate Robinson.
He’s a humble star that could give fans some spectacular moments in 2021 and beyond.
Especially with the kind of help that should be on the way this offseason.
