Chiefs vs Niners includes a galaxy of stars

If you were hoping Cinderella would make an appearance at Super Bowl 58 you’re out of luck. The feel-good story of the Lions crashed and burned in the NFC Championship Game with a second-half choke job.

Now we have two Super Bowl regulars, the NFL’s best team in the 49ers and the defending champion in the Chiefs. It has a chance of being a dozy featuring the game’s best quarterback, best running back and a galaxy of other stars.

But there’s a lot of contrast. KC’s Patrick Mahomes is the best quarterback on earth; the Niners’ Brock Purdy is the most over achieving quarterback. The Niners’ Christian McCaffrey is the best  running back; the Chiefs’ Isiah Pacheco the best running back you don’t know. KC’s Chris Jones is an All-Pro pass rusher; ditto for the Niners’ Nick Bosa.

On the sidelines the Chiefs have Coach Andy Reid, an all-time great; the Niners have Kyle Shanahan, who’s on his way to the Hall of Fame.
