It’s difficult to win games in the NFL. Gimmes are few and far between.

Many Jaguar fans may have been surprised their team had to rally in the 4th quarter — thank you defense — to defeat the lightly regarded Colts in Indianapolis. No surprise really. NFL games are usually decided by a single digit.

I believe the confusion is because many of us are both NFL and college fans. On Saturday, especially early in the season, we’re used to games being decided by absurdly lopsided margins.

Last Saturday, in games involving top 25 teams, there were victory margins — listen carefully —  of 62, 56, 53, 49, 48, 46, 42, 35 . . . you get my point. There were three upsets and two great games. No. 12 Utah scored two TDs in the last 90 seconds to beat Baylor and UNC needed two overtimes to whip Appalachian State.
