LAMM AT LARGE: A Tough Weekend For NFL Betters

I hope you didn’t bet on NFL games last week. Don’t misunderstand. I love to make a wager or three myself.
But last Sunday you got a butt-kicking from the bookies and sports books.
A third of the 12 games were surprises. Maybe more.
Jets 27, Packers 10. Giants 24, Ravens 20. Steelers 20, Bucs 18. Falcons 28, 49ers 14.
You could throw in the Jaguars, who were favored to beat their favorite meal, Colt. A late TD pass from supposedly over-the-hill QB Matt Ryan to somebody sent the Jaguars home with tears in their eyes.
The NFL brass is smiling from ear to ear. They keep telling us there’s parity. Difficult to argue the point.
It can’t be overlooked that both New York teams won and are having good seasons, a rarity in recent years. The New York-based national media are hysterical.
