LAMM AT LARGE: Drama in The Tennis World

The U.S. Open Tennis Championship is underway and the world’s No. 1 player, Novak Djokovic, isn’t playing.

The reason is both wrong and stupid.

Djokovic has won three Opens and played in the final six times. He’s a major draw with millions of fans around the world.

But he hasn’t been vaccinated for Covid and both the United States and New York say, no vaccination, no play.

Digest that for a month. Then realize thousands of illegal immigrants cross our southern border daily and are then bused to various cities, including New York City.

I’m pretty sure they aren’t tested for Covid or even asked about their vaccination status.

I heard a news commentator suggest Djokovic should have just come across our southern border and taken a free bus ride to New York. Smartest thing I heard all week about the Djokovic story.

In all seriousness, banning Djokovic makes no sense. Like I said earlier, the policy-makers in this case are both wrong and stupid.
