LAMM AT LARGE: Gators QB controversy

todaySeptember 7, 2021

Background

Minutes after Florida’s 35-14 victory over FAU, Coach Dan Mullen was asked about a quarterback controversy.

Mullen looked at the interviewer with a straight face, seemingly puzzled, and replied, ‘What are you talking about?”

Either Mullen didn’t watch the game, is stupid, thinks we’re stupid or wants to hide the obvious. He saw the game and he’s not stupid. Maybe he thinks all of us are stupid. He clearly must dread facing the truth.

Emory Jones waited three years to become the starting QB. That’s admiral is this age of the transfer portal. But he was awful against FAU. He missed receivers, threw costly interception and seemed to have the jitters under the bright lights. Josh Richardson came off the bench and bailed out the Gators with mainly his legs.

There IS a QB controversy in Gator Land.

And speaking of QB controversies, look west at FSU. More on that another day
