LAMM AT LARGE: No Clear Favorite in CBB This Season

The college basketball season crazy. Several blue blood programs are hemorrhaging. Being ranked in the top-25 is a heavy burden.

Last weekend — Friday night through Sunday — 10 ranked teams went down, including top-ranked Purdue to unranked Northwestern.

As we near the post-season, you won’t find Duke, North Carolina, Kentucky or Louisville near a top-4 seed in any region. As I write this, Duke has already lost eight times, Carolina 9, Kentucky 9 and Louisville 22.

Florida barely has its head above water and usually reliable FSU is 8-18 and already out of postseason consideration.

There is no clear favorite to win the national title. The Final Four could look different than we’ve ever seen.
