Lamm at Large: The NFL’s Coaching Diversity Problem

The season is in the books and now we turn to an offseason with a heated discussion about the way NFL owners hire go about hiring head coaches, and it’s only getting hotter. There are probably racist among the owners, those of whom grew up in a segregated world haven’t adjusted well to the new world order. There’s almost certainly an element of good ole boy network when it comes to hiring coaches. There’s no simple answer to such an objective problem. I like the arrival of black quarterbacks, the process isn’t going to be easily or quickly, but it will be solved
