LAMM AT LARGE: Tom Kim Bursts onto The Scene

todayOctober 12, 2022

Background
If you haven’t heard of Tom Kim by now, you soon will whether or not you’re or a big golf fan.
Kim is a 20-year-old South Korean who had the savvy to change his first name to something fans and sponsors could pronounce.
And he has a game drawing comparison to Tiger Woods. Yes, that Tiger Woods.
When Kim won last week’s Shriners Hospital tournament, he joined Tiger as the two players under 21 to win twice on the PGA Tour in modern golf.
Unlike a young Tiger, Kim oozes with personality, from his constant smile to his fondness of the media. His coming party was in the President’s Cup. Although the USA outclassed the International team, Kim proved to be a star.
He won last week in Las Vegas by dueling with one of the world’s best players, Patrick Cantley, to the 18th tee. Kim then hit a 300-plus drive down the middle. Cantley followed that by hooking his tee shot in the junk and making a triple-bogey.
Game over. Great career continues.
