After interviewing you more than 40 days ago, the Jaguars interviewed everybody but Vince Lombardi, who wasn’t available. Were you not willing to close the deal or was it the Jaguars who were reluctant? I guess we’ll find out when you write your book.

I think you’re in a great spot. Jaguars fans aren’t expecting a Super Bowl or even the playoffs. They just want a competitive team week in, week out. They want a team that plays with poise, lines up right, doesn’t jump offside, holds and doesn’t move early.

They want to see Trevor Lawrence improve. They want a decent draft class.

Get 7-8 victories and the fans will be celebrating at TIAA Bank Field.

Now Year 2, that’s another matter.
