Background

The 2022 NFL legal tampering period has officially begun for the Jacksonville Jaguars beginning at 12pm EST – this two day period is the start of free agency allowing teams to enter talks with upcoming free agents, NFL teams are only allowed to outline the parameters of a potential contract and not make any official offers or host player visits. We will update you here with all reported news, nuggets, and updates surrounding the free agency period.

THURSDAY:

 

1:00PM Jaguars re-sign CB Tre Herndon

 

9:45AM Andrew Norwell is headed to Washington

 

WEDNESDAY: 

 

6:09PM Myles Jack Sign with the Steelers (2 year 16 millions dollar deal)

 

4:13PM Jaguars re-sign OL Will Richardson 

 

10:21AM Jaguars agree to terms with CB Darious Williams ( 3 year, worth up to 39 millions) 

Returning to Jacksonville, Darious Williams played football at Creekside High School growing up here in Duval. Williams was most recently with the LA Rams opposite former Jaguar Jalen Ramsey, he played in 14 games and recorded 71 tackles, no interceptions but tallied a fumble recovery and 9 pass deflections.

TUESDAY:

8:07AMThe Lions are expected to sign  DJ Chark to a one year deal, 10 mill fully guaranteed 

 

MONDAY:

9:19PM OL AJ Cann is heading to Houston

8:01PM Jaguars agree to terms with WR Zay Jones 3 years up to 3 mil 

Zay Jones spent his first two and a half seasons in Buffalo before heading to the Raiders where he has been since the middle of the 2019 season. In 2021 he caught 47 passes for 546 yards and a touchdown.

 

6:17PM Browns have agreed to a one-year deal with DT Taven Bryan

5:42PM Jaguars are expected to sign TE Evan Engram (1 year deal worth $9 million)

Evan Engram has spent the last 5 years with the Giants where he started 51 games and amassed 2,828 yards and 16 touchdowns. In 2020 Engram appeared in the Pro-Bowl and in 2021 he put up 408 yards and 3 touchdowns.

2:32PM Jaguars are expected to sign WR Christian Kirk (4 year deal worth $72 million) 

Christian Kirk has spent the last 4 seasons with the Cardinals where he has started in 41 games for 2,902 yards, and 17 touchdowns including a career-high 982 yards catching 77 passes last season plus notched 5 touchdowns for the 2021 season.

1:49PM Jaguars agree to terms with DT Foley Fatukasi on a 3 year $30 million deal

Foley Fatukas has spent the last 4 seasons with the Jets, he should be a big help for The Jaguars when it comes to stopping the run, Jags were 24th in the league last year after allowing 125.1 yards on the ground per game. Fatukasi is known to be a ‘run-stuffer’ and is expected to help Jags defense against the run.

1:47pm Jaguars agree to terms with LB Foye Oloukun on a 3 year $45 million deal 

 

Foye Oloukunhas spent the last 4 seasons with the Falcons, he lead the league in tackles last season notching 192 total tackles, and was tied third in the league with 102 solo tackles for the season.

1:38PM Jaguars agree to terms with Pro-Bowl Gaurd Brandon Scherff 

 

Brandon Scherff has spent the last 7 seasons with Washington where he has been voted into the Pro Bowl in 5 of those seasons including the last 3. In 2021, he played in 11 games starting all 11, where PFF ranked number him #13 guard out of 82 qualifying players.

12:00PM Jaguars UFA officially hit the market, including DJ Chark

 

11:56PM The Jaguars will tender Andrew Wingard
