The value of backup quarterbacks is about to skyrocket

todayDecember 7, 2023

No matter how many rules the owners put in to protect their most important and expensive asset, more than a half dozen have suffered injuries that have ended their season or caused them to miss a lot of games.

The Jaguars’ Trevor Lawrence is the latest. Others include Bengal QB Joe Burrow, Viking Kirk Cousins, Brown Deshaun Watson and Colt Anthony Richardson.

There’s already a shortage of top-line QBs, but one thing is clear: The value of backup quarterbacks is about to skyrocket.
