The Gators’ game at South Carolina this Saturday could be their most important game of the season. It’s practically a must-win and not just because it’s the next game.
If Florida is to have a reasonable chance of getting a bowl bid, it has to beat the Gamecocks. The Gators will be underdogs in four of its last five games. The juggernaut is playing Georgia in Jacksonville, traveling to LSU and Missouri, and hosting the Seminoles. Playing Arkansas in The Swamp will be toss up at best.
The Gators, 4-2, have to win two more games to qualify for a post-season, for one of the lowest-tier bowl games. They still have a decent chance for that lowly goal thanks to an early-season upset of Tennesse.
Coach Billy Napier will start hearing the boo birds if he doesn’t at least match his first year record of 6-7.
