The college football landscape is changing at warp speed

Background

 

The Big 10 now has 18 teams stretching from New Jersey to California. The SEC has expanded to the West, grabbing Texas and Oklahoma after earlier pulling in Texas A&M, Arkansas and Missouri. The ACC grabbed FSU and powerhouse East independents Syracuse, Boston College and Pitt. The Big 12 took in Arizona, Arizona State, Utah and Colorado. The Pac-12 is grasping for air, down to an unsustainable 4 teams.

 

Sure, it’s a money grab, for cash and TV markets. But teams have been jumping conferences and blurring geographical lines for years.

 

Just not at such speed.
