Has the NFL Inspired Any Songs

If you look at the years as they have gone by, you will soon see that there have been a lot of songs created in honour of football. Even though a lot of them did not make it into the charts, it’s safe to say that the opposite has happened. Songs have become famous because they have been shown on highlight reels and because they have been played at games. Some of them have even been created for the NFL specifically, which is great. If you want to find out which songs are most connected to football then the only thing you have to do is take a look below.

Brassy Musical Themes

If you look at the songs that have been created in the past for highlight reels, you will see that a lot of them are brassy highlight reels. They have stuck with us ever since. These musical themes have made their debut in a lot of films and some of them have even made it onto TV shows and commercials.

Magnificent  Eleven

Spence’s tunes happen to make it obvious that it is borrowing from other compositions but he does make it obvious. He wants to do what he can to pay tribute to the original music and one of his most famous songs would be the Magnificent Eleven soundtrack. This is obviously influenced by the Magnificent Seven but either way, it is a top song.

Classic Battle is Often Played in Casinos

It’s safe to say that there have been a lot of battles in the NFL as the years have gone by so it is incredibly difficult to find out where Spence got the inspiration he needed for this one. It was written way before the NY Giants got a win over the NE Patriots. This happened in Super Bowl XLVI but this game was probably what he had in mind when he wrote it.  If you want some popular songs about gambling then this one should also be on your list as it is often played at casinos across the world.

March to the Trenches

This one will make you imagine warriors in helmets as they run onto the field. Footballers are often ready to do battle. It may even make you think about army tanks as they charge over the hill. Either way, this is a top football song and if you are making a playlist for the next Super Bowl then this is one you won’t want to miss out on.

Bomb Squad

This is one of the cooler tunes and it sounds like it could be part of a suspense thriller or a movie about espionage. It was used to give some drama to the long pass that Aaron Rodgers did in a tense game once. Ever since then, it has stuck and now it is a strong part of the game.

Autumn Wind

John Facenda has done a lot of work in the past but at the end of the day, none quite compare to this entry. This is known as the Voice of God if you are not already familiar with it and the composer has taken the time to talk about it in numerous interviews. If you are a fan of the NFL then you will not want to miss out on this tune as it will bring back a lot of memories, especially of Super Bowls from a long time ago.

Ramblin Man

This offering is a bit jazzier but at the end of the day, it still has a lot of mystery. Who is the Ramblin’ Man? The list of NFL alumni who attended this college is long and there is no telling which person the song is talking about. That being said, one of the possible options could well be James Harris. He was one of the very first black Americans to have begun an NFL season as a QB.

Up as She Rises

This is another prime example of a song that has borrowed quite a lot from another song. You can listen to it from the beginning and when you do you will hear a folk song which takes quite a lot from “what shall we do with a drunken sailor”. You will want to check this song out for yourself today if you want to give it a listen because you will probably recognise it from a lot of NFL games. It has a lot of potential as a Super Bowl highlight reel too, which makes it very versatile overall.
