Maybe for the first time ever I agree with fans who’ve whined for years that the Jaguars don’t get much respect in the national media.
It’s midseason and the Jaguars (6-2) have the third-best record in the AFC behind the Chiefs and the Ravens, both 7-2; tied with the Lions for fourth-best record overall. You might not know that if you don’t live on the First Coast.
I understand the Jaguars being ignored for years. They were lousy. But they made the playoffs last year and won a game. They now have a Super Bowl-winning coach in Doug Pederson, an ascending young QB in Trevor Lawrence, one of the best RBs in Travis Etienne, one of the best group of receivers, and a defense playing lights out. And really good special teams.
What’s not to like? Sure they still have games against the Bengals and Browns. The 49ers are up this week.
But for a change, I don’t think anyone looks forward to playing the Jaguars. The national media might want to check that out.
