LAMM AT LARGE: Getting In The Zone

Its called The Zone. Its when the baseball looks larger than a volley ball; when the basketball hoop looks as big as a man hole cover; the golf hole looks twice as large; and when football slows down.

Most athletes get in The Zone occasionally. Tom Brady lives in The Zone. Tiger Woods used to.

Now golfer Scottie Scheffler is in The Zone. Sunday marked his third victory in his last five PGA Tour starts. He has made one of the fastest trips to the No. 1 world ranking in history.

Unless you’re a hardcore golf fan you might not know who Scheffler is. He’s a tall, lean 25-year-old Texan who doesn’t talk much. All that will change next week at the Masters when he’ll be swamped by the media. He’ll likely be the favorite.

If he stays in The Zone he’ll soon get an addition to his wardrobe: a green jacket.
