LAMM AT LARGE: Sports Gambling Has Entered The Mainstream

todayApril 28, 2022

Background
Once gambling was the most taboo thing in sports. Oh, how things have changed.
Nowadays, professional sports leagues not only accept gambling, they promote it. Think Fan Duel, one of several gambling games.
Sports TV networks and sports radio devote shows to gambling, giving the point spread, the over-under and all sorts on prop bets. Want know the odds who wins the Super Bowl? The Heisman Trophy? The World Series?
How about the odds on who the Jaguars draft with the No. 1 pick tonight?
This total flip flop began with pro golf, of all sports, accepting gambling. Then came when pro sports took the Scarlet Letter off Las Vegas as the site of sports franchises.
Well, actually the move to become partners with gambling started when everyone realized how much money could be made.
Wonder what Pete Rose thinks about all this?

We live in an age when the NBA is loaded with giants who run like gazelles and jump like tigers. Then there's Nikola Jokic. The  Nugget's 6-11, 284-pound center may be the league's most unathletic player. He lopes up and down the court and on a good day may be able […]
