LAMM AT LARGE: The CFP Drama Is Here

todayDecember 1, 2022

Background
Except for the College Football Playoff, this should be the best weekend of the season, the conference championships.
It isn’t this year. There’s a serious lack of suspense. There could be more blowouts than ever.
In the SEC, unbeaten Georgia is a big favorite over LSU in Atlanta.
In the Big 10, unbeaten Michigan is expect to roll over Purdue in Indianapolis.
In the Big 12, unbeaten TCU should beat Kansas State in Dallas — again.
In the ACC, both Clemson and North Carolina enter the game in Charlotte after losses.
Ah, in the Pac-12 there finally is some drama. Southern Cal is still hoping to make the CFP but the Trojans must avenge their only loss — a 43-42 shootout against Utah, a three-time loser, in Las Vegas.
Among the Group of 5 conference championship games, the AAC matchup between UCF and Tulane is worth viewing. The winner in New Orleans will get a major bowl invitation.
The Tide is rooting for a major upset, Yes, Alabama could sneak into the CFP with two losses.
