LAMM AT LARGE: The President’s Cup is Here

todaySeptember 22, 2022

Background
If you need a break from football — yeah, I know how stupid that sounds — I recommend you check out the President’s Cup which starts Thursday in Charlotte at Quail Hollow.
Even those who love watching golf must think I’m crazy. The team competition between the USA and the world, excluding Europe, is expected to be a red-white-and-blue butt stomping.
LIV Golf robbed the International team of its top stars, Cam Smith, Joaquin Neimann, Louis Oosthunizen and Sergio Garcia among them..
But before you discount Team International, consider the star invasion of Asian players. While the Asian men are still behind their female counterparts, they’re gaining ground quickly..
Masters champ Hidecki Hatsuyama is well known, but Sungjea Im, K.H. Lee, Tom Kim and Si Woo Kim, a former winner of The Players, are among other Asians who can beat  anyone any day.
I do expect Team USA to win, but I wouldn’t be surprised if the match is determined late Sunday afternoon..

Urban Meyer said last week he was no longer interested in coaching. Well that's smart on his part. Who the hell would hire him? Despite a wonderful college career that included winning national championships at Florida and Ohio State, Meyer is toxic now. He has jumped from program to program […]

LAMM AT LARGE: In State Rivalries Go Deep

It's usually difficult to get excited about college basketball in Florida. No school in the state would ever be compared with the blue blood programs. But several state schools have had their moments. None more so than the Gators, who won back-to-back national titles in '06-'07. The Seminoles lost in […]
