Ohio State football still in the mix for top safety in 2023

As the collegiate football world starts focusing on the national recruiting class for 2024, there are still lots of eyes focusing on the future of the Buckeyes’ football among the country’s best teams. The Ohio State University class is off to a solid start early in multiple recruiting cycles, where they’ve mostly focused on the country’s rising-junior recruits, including for the class of 2025.

To maintain their recent run of future college football playoffs, the Buckeyes will keep flocking fresh talent to the team for spring practices, junior days, official visits, and more. The Buckeyes recently extended an offer to the country’s No. 9, Brandyn Hillman to play safety. Brandyn was recently released from his letter of intent for playing for Notre Dame and would be a strong sign-up for Ohio State University.

A highly sought-after player, Hillman also has other offers to consider from Cincinnati, Boston College, Louisville, Michigan, LSU, Virginia, UConn, Vanderbilt, Wisconsin, and Virginia tech. As such, the Ohio Buckeyes must wait to see who will come out victorious. However, punters can redeem various promos at Ohio sportsbooks as they wait to see what happens.

The Ohio State Buckeyes class of 2023 currently ranks fourth and adding Hillman to the team will only bolster their already strong squad. Ohio State University will once again compete for a position in the Big Ten and reach the playoff championship.

On the field, OSU will be looking quite different next season, starting from the quarterback to other parts of the team. Quarterback CJ Stroud is among the top prospects in this upcoming NFL draft and might potentially become the number one for the Carolina Panthers.

Stroud is among the six Ohio State University players that will be leaving early to feature in the NFL. Stroud will be playing on the same level with five other players including center Luke Wypler, wide receiver Jaxon Smith Njigba, right tackle Dawand Jones, left tackle Paris Johnson and safety Ronnie Hickman.

The Ohio State University head coach Tyan Day will have a hard time trying to replace these players, as they led the Buckeyes to finish last season with an 11-2 record. They also helped the team earn a trip to the Football playoff, although the Buckeyes eventually lost to the national champions, Georgia Bulldogs.

Despite their losses, the Ohio State University will still be in a position to rely on several key returning starters. Right guard Mathew Jones and Linebacker Tommy Eichenberg might have been the top prospects during the draft, but they ultimately decided against declaring. They might be returning to Columbus and hope to bring home the ring this upcoming season.
