Top NFL Futures For 2022-2023 Season

todaySeptember 1, 2022

Background

One of the aspects of the NFL gaining popularity is NFL Future and Season-Long props bets.

Some of these include:

● Team Win Totals

● Season Long Player Performances

● Super Bowl Winners

● Coach of the Year

● MVP

● Offensive Rookie of the Year

● Defensive Rookie of the Year

● Betting point spreads or totals weeks in advance.

These bets are typically made by recreational bettors and are more for entertainment purposes.

How To Bet On NFL Futures Since NFL Future Bets are gaining popularity, learning how to place a bet on NFL games has become an easy thing. Most sportsbooks will offer futures mainly, Team Win Total, Alternate Team Win Totals, Season Long Player Pros, and Award Winners.

Below is an example of a season-long player prop for Kyler Murray this season.

If you are a fan of Kyler Murray and think he will throw from more than 4050.5 passing yards in 2022, then betting the over would be the wager for you. Betting $110 would win you $100 at the -110 odds set for this bet.

Below are the odds for NFL MVP.

● Josh Allen +650

● Tom Brady +850

● Patrick Mahomes +900

● Justin Herbert +900

● Aaron Rodgers +1000

● Joe Burrow +1200

● Russell Wilson +1400

● Matthew Stafford +1600

● Dak Prescott +1600

● Jalen Hurts +2000

Placing a bet on the MVP is very easy. If you are one of the fans that think Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills take the next step this season, placing a bet on Josh Allen to win MVP makes sense. If you place a $10 bet on Josh Allen, and he does win MVP, then you would win $65, or a $100 bet would win $650.

Or, if you want to take a long shot and believe in the preseason hype of the Eagles and Jalen Hurts MVP, a $10 bet would win $100, or a $100 bet would win $2,000.

Betting NFL Futures is not an ideal way to build your bankroll as they are not efficient and hard to profit from. Season-long props require a lot of luck as things can go wrong or unexpected at any point of the season—injuries, coaching changes, trades, etc.

I am not saying you should completely ignore them, but don’t go crazy betting on 20 futures; you need to be very selective on which ones you bet on. Also, Sportsbooks like to “hide” juice on these futures to avoid significant losses. Outside of Award Winners, it is very rare to find plus-money odds on season-long prop bets.

Favorite NFL Futures Picks

Adam Thielen Over 750.5 Receiving yards

Adam Thielen had 726 receiving yards in just 13 games last year before getting hurt. With new Head Coach Kevin O’Connell coming out saying they will pass more and run more 3-WR sets, Thielen is massively underrated right now.

Los Angeles Chargers: AFC Conference Winner

The Chargers’ biggest weakness last season was their defense; they traded for Kahlil Mack and then signed linemen Sebastian Joseph-Day and Austin Johnson to upgrade their front seven. Justin Herbert and the Chargers are legit Super Bowl contenders.

Brandon Aiyuk Over 4.5 Receiving TDs

Early training camp reports say that Trey Lance has built great chemistry with 3rd-year receiver Brandon Aiyuk and looks to be his first option. Combine that great news and that Aiyuk has caught five touchdowns in his first two seasons; the over 4.5 looks very tasty.

Nick Chubb Under 10.5 Rushing TDs

Nick Chubb is one of the best Running backs in the NFL, but I think his rushing TD prop number is too high, which is at 10.5 at most sportsbooks. Chubb is entering his 5th year with the Browns and has only topped this number once.

Buffalo Bills: Division Winner

The Buffalo Bills will be on a mission this year. It’s Super Bowl or Bust for them in 2022. After losing heartbreakingly last year in the playoffs, they are looking for revenge in a major way.

Baltimore Ravens: Division Winner

The Baltimore Ravens are in a prime spot to bounce back and regain the AFC North. The Ravens dealt with many injuries in 2021. Baltimore lost J.K. Dobbins, Gus Edwards, and Marcus Peters before the season started.

Minnesota Vikings: Over 9 Wins

The Minnesota Vikings may be a sneaky Super Bowl Contender in 2022. Now that Kirk Cousins has a Head Coach that believes in him, I think the offense takes it up another notch.

Philadelphia Eagles: Jalen Hurts to win MVP

This is a long shot, but there is a lot of hype on the Eagles In 2022. Jalen Hurts should continue to grow as a dual-threat QB, and the addition of his pal AJ Brown makes this offense very exciting.

Los Angeles Rams: Division Winner,

The offensive combination of Sean McVay, Matthew Stafford, and Cooper Kupp is nearly unstoppable. Adding Allen Robinson to replace Robert Woods and getting a healthy Cam Akers will be beneficial.

Houston Texans: Under 4.5 Wins

Houston faced the 7th hardest schedule in 2021 and is projected to face the 6th hardest schedule this year. I can’t see the Texans improving by 1-2 wins in 2022.

Tips on NFL Futures

Below are some of the best tips we can offer for betting on NFL Futures.

1. Be selective. Don’t tie up your entire bankroll all season betting NFL Future Bets. Select 3-5 of your best or favorites and only bet those.

2. When placing your future bets, bet them close to the start of the regular season. You don’t want to lose out on money due to an injury during training camp or a preseason game.

3. Don’t make contradicting bets. If you place a bet on the Buffalo Bills to win the Super Bowl, don’t make another bet on the Baltimore Ravens to win the AFC Conference.

4. Also, shop for the best lines or odds. Access to multiple sportsbooks so that you can shop for the best line or odds is extremely important.

In conclusion, research other experts’ strategies, implement your system or process, and with extensive research, you should have better luck in becoming profitable long-term when placing NFL Futures.
